THE ELECTORAL ACT, 1923.

[Extract from Iris Oifigiúil of 4th May, 1923.]

IN pursuance of the powers vested in me by Sub-section (2) of Section 11 and by Clause 2 of the Second Schedule to the Electoral Act, 1923 , hereinafter referred to as "the Act," and of all other powers in this behalf enabling me, I, the Minister for Local Government do hereby order and prescribe as follows:—

1. The forms set out in the Schedule to this Order or forms to the like effect shall be used in the cases to which they purport to be applicable, and shall for the purposes of the Act be deemed to be the prescribed forms.

2. This Order may be cited as the Registration of Electors (Forms) Order, 1923.

The expression "qualifying date" means in the case of the first Register prepared under the Electoral Act, 1923 , the 15th day of October, 1922, and in the case of subsequent registers the 15th day of November.

The expression "business premises" means land, buildings or other premises occupied for the purpose of your business, profession or trade and of the rateable value of not less than ten pounds, and includes part of a house or building.

In the case of graduates who have received a degree both in the Universitly of Dublin and the National University of Ireland particulars of each degree and the University in which it was obtained should be given in reply to question No. 6.

The entry of the appropriate index letter or letters against a name in column (2), (3) or (6) indicates that the person is a Seanad Elector, Dáil Elector, or Local Government Elector, as the case may be. Where no index letter is entered in one or other of those columns against a name, the person is not entitled to the franchise to which the column relates.

NOTE.—† Persons against whose names the mark (†) is placed are not entitled to vote in respect of that entry at Election of County Councillors.
