UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE.

THE UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE (COMPUTATION OF PERIODS) REGULATIONS, 1923, DATED 18TH DAY OF JUNE, 1923, MADE BY THE MINISTER FOR INDUSTRY AND COMMERCE.

For the purpose of allowing in certain cases an earlier date to be substituted for that prescribed by Sub-Section 4 of Section 6 of the Unemployment Insurance Act, 1923 (hereinafter referred to as the Act) as the date of the commencement of a period of unemployment the Minister for Industry and Commerce, by virtue of the powers conferred on him by Sub-Section 4 of Section 6 of the Act and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations :—

(1) If in any case an insured contributor claiming benefit in respect of a period of unemployment proves that he was on a date earlier than that upon which he made application for benefit in the prescribed manner in all respect qualified to make the claim and that there was good cause for his failure to make the claim on that date, that date shall for the purpose of determining the commencement of that period of unemployment be substituted for the date on which the insured contributor actually made application for benefit in the prescribed manner.

(2) These Regulations may be cited as the Unemployment Insurance (Computation of Periods) Regulations, 1923.
