20. The provisions of the Municipal Corporations (Ireland) Act, 1840, sections eighty-eight and eighty-nine, as to the disqualification of mayors, aldermen, and town councillors having been declared bankrupt, or having compounded by deed with their creditors, shall extend to every arrangement or composition by a mayor, alderman, town councillor, or town commissioner with his creditors under the Irish Bankrupt and Insolvent Act, 1857, as amended by the Bankruptcy (Ireland) Amendment Act, 1872, whether the same is made by deed or otherwise.
