Election and duty of a librarian.

Salary 70l. a year, provided as herein.

[XII.(a )] And be it enacted by the authority aforesaid, That it shall and may be lawful to and for the said president and fellows, annually, on the eighteenth of October, to elect a librarian, who shall, under the controul and direction of the said president and fellows, superintend the purchase of books to form a medical library, whenever there shall be a fund for purchasing the same, and shall have the care of them, and of all such books as have been heretofore purchased, and the management of the library, and that such librarian shall, before he enters upon his office, give security by bond to the said president and fellows for the due care and preservation of the books committed to his care; and that such librarian shall receive an annual salary not exceeding seventy pounds, provided he shall furnish the necessary fuel for such library and medical lecture room, and shall faithfully discharge such duties as shall be prescribed to him by the president and fellows of the college of physicians, with the consent and approbation of the chancellor of Trinity College, or in his absence, the vice-chancellor, the archbishop of Dublin, the provost of Trinity College, and the professor of physic in the same, or any two of them, and the books belonging to said library shall be deposited in a room or rooms provided for the purpose, in the hospital to be erected for the reception of patients, on whose cases clinical lectures may be given; [The rest of this section is rep., Stat.
