S.I. No. 277/2026 - Credit Review Act 2026 (Commencement) Order 2026

Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 23rd June, 2026.

I, SIMON HARRIS, Minister for Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1 (2) of the Credit Review Act 2026 (No. 1 of 2026), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Credit Review Act 2026 (Commencement) Order 2026.

2. In this Order, “Act of 2026” means the Credit Review Act 2026 (No. 1 of 2026).

3. The 24th day of June 2026 is appointed as the day on which the following provisions of the Act of 2026 shall come into operation:

(a) Part 1, other than section 6;

(b) section 8;

(c) section 25;

(d) section 28;

(e) section 29.

4. The 1st day of July 2026 is appointed as the day on which the Act of 2026, in so far as it is not already in operation, shall come into operation.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation)

In exercise of the powers conferred on the Minister for Finance by section 1 (2) of the Credit Review Act 2026 (No. 1 of 2026), this Order appoints the day on which different sections of that Act come into operation.

Part 1 (other than section 6), sections 8, 25, 28 and 29 come into operation on 24 June 2026.

Section 6, Part 2 (other than section 8), Part 3 (other than sections 25, 28 and 29), Part 4 and Part 5 come into operation on 1 July 2026.
