S.I. No. 176/2026 - Charities Act 2009 (Section 33) (Relevant Body) Order 2026

Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 28th April, 2026.

I, Jerry Buttimer, Minister of State at the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 33 of the Charities Act 2009 (No. 6 of 2009), the Charities (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order 2017 ( S.I. No. 348 of 2017 ) (as adapted by the Rural and Community Development (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2025 ( S.I. No. 173 of 2025 )) and the Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht (Delegation of Ministerial Functions) Order 2025 ( S.I. No. 267 of 2025 ), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Charities Act 2009 (Section 33) (Relevant Body) Order 2026.

2. The following bodies are prescribed for the purposes of paragraph (b) of the definition of “relevant body” in section 33 of the Charities Act 2009 (No. 6 of 2009):

(a) the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science;

(b) an Ghníomhaireacht um Fhoréigean Baile, Gnéasach agus Inscnebhunaithe;

(c) Pobal;

(d) the Workplace Relations Commission.
