I, DARRAGH O’BRIEN, Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1 (3) of the Local Government (Mayor of Limerick) and Miscellaneous Provisions Act 2024 (No. 7 of 2024), hereby order as follows: | ||
1. This Order may be cited as the Local Government (Mayor of Limerick) and Miscellaneous Provisions Act 2024 (Commencement) Order 2024. | ||
2. The 31st day of March 2024 is appointed as the day on which the following provisions of the Local Government (Mayor of Limerick) and Miscellaneous Provisions Act 2024 (No. 7 of 2024) shall come into operation: | ||
(a) Part 1, other than sections 4 and 5; | ||
(b) subsection (3) of section 13 insofar as it provides for a definition of “mayoral by-election”; | ||
(c) section 20; | ||
(d) Part 5; | ||
(e) Part 8 insofar as it is not already in operation; | ||
(f) Schedule 2. | ||
