S.I. No. 9/2023 - Fines (Payment and Recovery) Act 2014 (Section 6) (Amendment) Regulations 2023

I, SIMON HARRIS, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 3 and 6 of the Fines (Payment and Recovery) Act 2014 (No. 7 of 2014) (as adapted by the Justice and Equality (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2020 ( S.I. No. 452 of 2020 )), hereby make the following regulations:

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Fines (Payment and Recovery) Act 2014 (Section 6) (Amendment) Regulations 2023.

(2) These Regulations shall come into operation on the 24th day of January 2023.

2. The Fines (Payment and Recovery) Act 2014 (Section 6) Regulations 2016 ( S.I. No 13 of 2016 ) are amended by the substitution of the following Regulation for Regulation 7:

“7. For the purposes of section 6(1)(b) of the Act, the following are prescribed as the means for paying a fine through the Courts Service -

(a) cash,

(b) cheque,

(c) bank draft,

(d) postal money order,

(e) credit card, or

(f) debit card.”.
