S.I. No. 389/2023 - Courts and Civil Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2023 (Commencement) Order 2023


Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 1st August, 2023.

I, HELEN MCENTEE, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1 (4) of the Courts and Civil Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2023 (No. 18 of 2023), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Courts and Civil Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2023 (Commencement) Order 2023.

2. In this Order, “Act of 2023” means the Courts and Civil Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2023 (No. 18 of 2023).

3. The 31st day of July 2023 is appointed as the day on which the following provisions of the Act of 2023 shall come into operation:

(a) Part 1;

(b) Part 2;

(c) Part 3;

(e) Part 5, other than sections 35 and 37;

(f) Part 6;

(g) Part 7;

(h) Part 8;

(i) Part 9, other than sections 50 and 51;

(j) Part 10, other than section 67;

(k) Part 11, other than sections 70 and 71;

(l) Part 12, other than section 77;

(m) Part 13;

(n) Part 14;

(o) Part 15, other than section 100;

(p) Part 16, other than subparagraph (iii) of paragraph (a) of section 118, insofar as that subparagraph inserts paragraph (m) in section 6 (2) of the Courts Service Act 1998 ;

(q) Part 17, other than sections 121 and 124.

4. The 1st day of November 2023 is appointed as the day on which section 121 of the Act of 2023 shall come into operation.
