S.I. No. 108/2023 - European Union (Passenger Ships) (Amendment) Regulations 2023


Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

I, EAMON RYAN, Minister for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972) and for the purpose of giving further effect to Directive 2009/45/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 6 May 20091 , hereby make the following regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Union (Passenger Ships) (Amendment) Regulations 2023.

2. Schedule 2 to the European Union (Passenger Ships) Regulations 2019 ( S.I. No. 676 of 2019 ) is amended in the Sea Area entry entitled West Coast of Ireland, by substituting for the second row (in relation to “Ballaghaline Point to Trawkeera Point”) the following two rows:

These Regulations amend Schedule 2 to the European Union (Passenger Ships) Regulations 2019, which give effect to Directive 2009/45/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on safety rules and standards for passenger ships, by updating the Sea Areas for the West Coast of Ireland.
