S.I. No. 437/2022 - Roads Act 1993 (Classification of Regional Roads) (Amendment) Order 2022


Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

I, EAMON RYAN, Minister for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 8 and 10 (1)(b) of the Roads Act 1993 (No. 14 of 1993) and the National Roads and Road Traffic (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order 2002 ( S.I. No. 298 of 2002 ) (as adapted by the Transport, Tourism and Sport (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2020 ( S.I. No. 351 of 2020 )), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Roads Act 1993 (Classification of Regional Roads) (Amendment) Order 2022.

2. The Roads Act 1993 (Classification of Regional Roads) Order 2012 ( S.I. No. 54 of 2012 ) is amended in the Schedule by the substitution of the following for the matter in column (2) opposite the mention of the regional road R444 in column (1):

Shannonbridge - Clonmacnoise, County Offaly - Boyanagh, County Westmeath

Between its junction with R357 at Shannonbridge in the county of Offaly and its junction with R446 at Boyanagh in the county of Westmeath via Cloniff, Creevagh, Clonmacnoise, Clonfinlough, Mannion’s Cross, Doon Cross and Esker in the county of Offaly: Clonmore and Kilcleagh in the county of Westmeath.”.

This order amends the Schedule of the Roads Act 1993 (Classification of Regional Roads) Order 2012 ( S.I. No. 54 of 2012 ) to address road classification issues regarding the R444 in County Westmeath.
