S.I. No. 27/2022 - Health Act 1947 (Regulations Relating to Certain Restrictions Under Section 31A) (COVID-19) (REVOCATION) Regulations 2022

Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 25th January, 2022.

I, STEPHEN DONNELLY, Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 5 , 31A (inserted by section 10 of the Health (Preservation and Protection and other Emergency Measures in the Public Interest) Act 2020 (No.1 of 2020)), 31AB and 31AD (inserted by section 3 of the Health (Amendment) (No.2) Act 2021 (No. 24 of 2021)) and 31C (inserted by section 4 of the Health (Amendment) Act 2020 (No. 19 of 2020)) of the Health Act 1947 (No. 28 of 1947) -

(a) having regard to the immediate, exceptional and manifest risk posed to human life and public health by the spread of Covid-19 and to the matters specified in subsections (2), (6A)(b), (6C)(b) and (6D)(b) of section 31A of that Act,

and

(b) having consulted with the Minister for Foreign Affairs, the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, the Minister for Transport, the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, the Minister for Finance, the Minister for Justice and the Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media,

hereby make the following regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Health Act 1947 (Regulations relating to Certain Restrictions under Section 31A)(Covid-19)(Revocation) Regulations 2022.

2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 22nd day of January 2022 at 6.00 a.m.

3. The following Regulations are revoked:

(a) Regulation 4, in so far as it applies to the provisions specified at entries 6, 7, 8, and 9 of Column 1 of Schedule 1 to, and Regulation 5 of, the Health Act 1947 (Fixed Payment Notice and Dwelling Event Provisions) (Covid-19)(No.2) Regulations 2021 ( S.I. No. 219 of 2021 );

(b) the Health Act 1947 (Section 31A-Temporary Restrictions)(Covid-19)(No.2) Regulations 2021 ( S.I. No. 217 of 2021 );

(c) the Health Act 1947 (Sections 31AB and 31AD) (Covid-19) (Operation of certain indoor premises) Regulations 2021 ( S.I. No. 385 of 2021 );

(d) the Health Act 1947 (Section 31A (6A))(Covid-19)(No.3) Regulations 2021 ( S.I. No. 738 of 2021 ).

These regulations revoke the majority of the Covid related public health restrictions including SIs 385 of 2021, 217 of 2021, 738 of 2021 and partially revokes SI 219 of 2021 with effect from 6am on Saturday the 22nd of January 2022.
