S.I. No. 694/2021 - Criminal Justice (Victims of Crime) Act 2017 (Commencement) Order 2021

Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 14th December, 2021.

I, HELEN MCENTEE, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1 (2) of the Criminal Justice (Victims of Crime) Act 2017 (No. 28 of 2017) (as adapted by the Justice and Equality (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2020 ( S.I. No. 452 of 2020 )), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Criminal Justice (Victims of Crime) Act 2017 (Commencement) Order 2021.

2. The 15th day of December 2021 is appointed as the day on which section 30(b)(ii) of the Criminal Justice (Victims of Crime) Act 2017 (No. 28 of 2017) shall come into operation for –

(a) the District Court sitting in District No. 4,

(b) the District Court sitting in District No. 16,

(c) the District Court sitting in District No. 17,

(d) the District Court sitting in District No. 20, and

(e) the District Court sitting in District No. 21.
