S.I. No. 233/2021 - Civil Law and Criminal Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2020 (Section 31) (Commission for Regulation of Utilities) (Designation) Order 2021


Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 18th May, 2021.

I, EAMON RYAN, Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by subsection (3) of section 31 of the Civil Law and Criminal Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2020 (No. 13 of 2020), and being satisfied it is appropriate to do so having regard to the matters specified in paragraphs (a) to (c) of subsection as they relate to the body to which the following order applies, and having consulted with the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, hereby orders as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Civil Law and Criminal Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2020 (Section 31)(Commission for Regulation of Utilities)(Designation) Order 2021.

2. In this Order “the Commission for Regulation of Utilities” means the body established by section 8 of the Electricity Regulation Act 1999 .

3. The Commission for Regulation of Utilities is, for the purposes of section 31 of the Civil Law and Criminal Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2020 (No. 13 of 2020), designated and may hold hearings before it by remote hearing.

This Instrument also designates the Commission for Regulation of Utilities as a body for the purposes of holding remote hearings under section 31 of the Civil Law and Criminal Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2020 .
