S.I. No. 213/2018 - Nurses and Midwives Act 2011 (Commencement) Order 2018

Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 26th June, 2018.

I, SIMON HARRIS, Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1 (2) of the Nurses and Midwives Act 2011 (No. 41 of 2011), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Nurses and Midwives Act 2011 (Commencement) Order 2018.

2. The 25th day of June 2018 is appointed as the day on which section 4 (2) of the Nurses and Midwives Act 2011 (No. 41 of 2011) shall come into operation.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation.)

This Order brings into operation section 4(2) of the Nurses and Midwives Act 2011 . Section 4(2) provides for the revoking of the following orders:-

(a) National Council for the Professional Development of Nursing and Midwifery (Establishment) Order 1999 ( S.I. No. 376 of 1999 );

(b) National Council for the Professional Development of Nursing and Midwifery (Establishment) Order, 1999 (Amendment) Order 2000 ( S.I. No. 352 of 2000 );

(c) National Council for the Professional Development of Nursing and Midwifery (Establishment) Order, 1999 (Amendment) Order 2004 ( S.I. No. 800 of 2004 ); and

(d) Health (An Bord Altranais) (Additional Functions) Order 2010 ( S.I. No. 3 of 2010 ).
