S.I. No. 408/2016 - Teaching Council (Amendment) Act 2015 (Commencement) (No. 3) Order 2016.


Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 29th July, 2016.

I, RICHARD BRUTON, the Minister for Education and Skills, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 34 (4) of the Teaching Council (Amendment) Act 2015 (No. 31 of 2015), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Teaching Council (Amendment) Act 2015 (Commencement) (No. 3) Order 2016.

2. The 25th day of July 2016 is appointed as the day on which the following provisions of the Teaching Council (Amendment) Act 2015 (No. 31 of 2015) come into operation:

(a) section 2(a)(i), in so far as it inserts the definitions of “Act of 1998”, “centre for education”, “complainant”, “delivery of home tuition”, “harm” and “poor professional performance” in section 2 of the Principal Act;

(b) section 2(a)(ii) and (iii) and section 2(b);

(c) sections 5, 6 and 7;

(d) section 8(a)(ii), save in so far as the subparagraph that is substituted for section 29(3)(a)(iv) of the Principal Act by that section 8(a)(ii) relates to section 33 of the Principal Act;

(e) section 9, save in so far as the section that is substituted for section 30 of the Principal Act by that section 9 relates to section 33(22) of the Principal Act;

(f) section 18(c);

(g) sections 19 to 31;

(h) section 32, other than paragraph (a) of that section;

(i) section 33.
