S.I. No. 180/2013 - Domestic Waste Water Treatment Systems (Registration) (Amendment) Regulations 2013.

I, PHIL HOGAN, Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Sections 18 and 70B(13) (as inserted by Section 4 of the Water Services (Amendment) Act 2012 (No. 2 of 2012)) of the Water Services Act 2007 (No. 30 of 2007) hereby make the following Regulations:

Citation

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Domestic Waste Water Treatment Systems (Registration) (Amendment) Regulations 2013.

Interpretation

2. In these Regulations “Principal Regulations” means the Domestic Waste Water Treatment Systems (Registration) Regulations 2012 (No. 220 of 2012)

Amendment of the Principal Regulations

3. The Principal Regulations are amended by inserting after Regulation 3 the following:

New developments — registration of domestic waste water treatment systems

3A.(a) Where construction or installation of a domestic waste water treatment system is completed after the date prescribed in Regulation 3 the owner of the premises connected to the treatment system shall ensure that the treatment system is entered on the relevant water services authority’s register of such systems within 90 days of connection of the premises to the domestic waste water treatment system

(b) Paragraph (a) shall not apply where the construction or installation of a domestic waste water treatment system is carried out for the purpose of the replacement of a treatment system which was already entered on the relevant water services authority’s register of such systems.
