I, FRANCES FITZGERALD, Minister for Children and Youth Affairs, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 29 (7) of the Child Care Act 1991 (No. 17 of 1991), being satisfied as to the matters referred to in subsection (7) and having consulted with the Minister for Justice and Equality, hereby make the following regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Child Care Act 1991 (Section 29(7)) Regulations.

2. The following classes of persons are specified in accordance with the provisions of section 29 (7) of the Child Care Act 1991 (No. 17 of 1991), for the purposes of subsection (5):

(a) persons engaged in child care law research, and

(b) nominated by a body specified in the Schedule to these Regulations, and

(c) approved by the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation.)

These Regulations specify the class of persons entitled to apply to attend hearings of proceedings under Part III, IV or VI of the Child Care Act 1991 , in respect of child care and protection cases conducted in the District Court, to prepare a report on cases for the purpose of assisting in the better operation of the Child Care Act 1991 . The person who will prepare the report is required to be engaged in child care law research, be nominated by a specified body and be approved by the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs.
