S.I. No. 700/2011 - Control of Dogs (Amendment) Regulations, 2011.

Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 3rd January, 2012.

I, Phil Hogan, Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 7 (amended by section 24 of the Dog Breeding Establishments Act, 2010 (No. 29 of 2010)) and 31 of the Control of Dogs Act, 1986 (No. 32 of 1986) (as adapted by the Environment, Heritage and Local Government (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2011 ( S.I. No. 193 of 2011 )), hereby make the following regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Control of Dogs (Amendment) Regulations, 2011.

2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 2nd day of January, 2012.

3. In these Regulations “Principal Regulations” means the Control of Dogs Regulations, 1998 ( S.I. No. 442 of 1998 ).

4. Regulation 9 of the Principal Regulations is amended by the insertion of the following paragraph:

“ (6) Form No. 6 (inserted by paragraph (c) of Regulation 5 of, and Schedule 3 to, the Control of Dogs (Amendment) Regulations, 2011) set out in the Second Schedule shall be the prescribed form of dog licence to which paragraph (b) of subsection (1) of section 7 of the Act applies.”.

5. The Second Schedule to the Principal Regulations is amended by:

(a) the substitution of the form set out in Schedule 1 for Form No. 1;

(b) the substitution of the form set out in Schedule 2 for Form No. 2;

(c) insertion of the form set out in Schedule 3 after Form No. 5.
