S.I. No. 141/2011 - Transport (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2011.


Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 1st April, 2011.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 6 (1) of the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Act 1939 (No. 36 of 1939), hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Transport (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2011.

(2) This Order comes into operation on 2 April 2011.

2. The name of the Department of State, the present name of which is, in the Irish language, an Roinn Iompair and, in the English language, the Department of Transport, is altered, in the Irish language, to that of an Roinn Iompair, Turasóireachta agus Spóirt and, in the English language, to that of the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport.

3. The title of the Minister having charge of the Department of State, whose present title is, in the Irish language, an tAire Iompair and, in the English language, the Minister for Transport, is altered, in the Irish language, to that of an tAire Iompair, Turasóireachta agus Spóirt and, in the English language, to that of the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport.

4. In any enactment or any instrument made under an enactment—

(a) references to the Department of Transport shall be construed as references to the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport;

(b) references to the Minister for Transport shall be construed as references to the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport.
