S.I. No. 401/2008 - Criminal Evidence Act 1992 (Section 16(1)(b)) (Commencement) Order 2008

Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 17th October, 2008.

I, DERMOT AHERN, Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1 (3) of the Criminal Evidence Act 1992 (No. 12 of 1992), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Criminal Evidence Act 1992 (Section 16(1)(b)) (Commencement) Order 2008.

2. The 15th day of October 2008 is hereby fixed as the day on which the following sections of the Criminal Evidence Act 1992 (No. 12 of 1992) shall come into operation

(a) section 16(1)(b), and

(b) section 19 in so far as it relates to the reference in it to section 16(1)(b).

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order appoints the 15th day of October 2008 as the day on which section 16(1)(b) and section 19, in so far as it relates to the reference in it to section 16(1)(b), of the Criminal Evidence Act 1992 shall come into operation.
