S.I. No. 841/2007 - Courts (Supplemental Provisions) Act 1961 (Increase of Judicial Remuneration) Order 2007


Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 4th January, 2008.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by subsection (9) (inserted by section 1 (b) of the Courts (Supplemental Provisions) (Amendment) (No. 2) Act 1968 (No. 21 of 1968) and amended by section 9 (1)(d) of the Oireachtas (Allowances to Members) and Ministerial, Parliamentary and Judicial Offices (Amendment) Act 1983 (No. 32 of 1983)) of section 46 of the Courts (Supplemental Provisions) Act 1961 (No. 39 of 1961), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Courts (Supplemental Provisions) Act 1961 (Increase of Judicial Remuneration) Order 2007.

2. The annual sums payable by way of remuneration to the several judges of the Supreme Court, the High Court, the Circuit Court and the District Court shall, with effect from 14 September 2007, be as follows:

(a) to the Chief Justice, the sum of €281,656;

(b) to the President of the High Court, the sum of €261,538;

(c) to each ordinary Judge of the Supreme Court, the sum of €245,445;

(d) to the President of the Circuit Court, the sum of €237,399;

(e) to each ordinary Judge of the High Court, the sum of €231,366;

(f) to the President of the District Court, the sum of €175,032;

(g) to each ordinary Judge of the Circuit Court, the sum of €168,998; and

(h) to each ordinary Judge of the District Court, the sum of €140,831.
