Garda Síochána (Ranks) Regulations 2007

I, Michael McDowell, Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 122 of the Garda Síochána Act 2005 (No. 20 of 2005), after consulting with the Garda Commissioner and with the approval of the Government, hereby make the following regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Garda Síochána (Ranks) Regulations 2007.

2. The Garda Síochána are to be divided into the ranks specified in column (1) of the Schedule to these Regulations and the maximum number of members in each rank is that specified in column (2) of that Schedule opposite the mention of the rank in column (1).

3. The Garda Síochána (Ranks) Regulations 2006 (S.I. No 286 of 2006) are revoked.
