I, MARY HARNEY, Minister for Health and Children, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 6(3) of the Health and Social Care Professionals Act 2005 (No. 27 of 2005), hereby order as follows: | ||
1. This Order may be cited as the Health and Social Care Professionals Council (Establishment Day) Order 2007. | ||
2. The 20th day of March 2007 is appointed as the establishment day for the Health and Social Care Professionals Council for the purposes of the Health and Social Care Professionals Act 2005 (No. 27 of 2005). | ||

The effect of this Order is to establish, under the Health and Social Care Professionals Act 2005 , a body known as the Health and Social Care Professionals Council, or in the Irish language, An Chomhairle um Ghairmithe Sláinte agus Cúraim Shisialaigh, which will protect the public by promoting high standards of professional conduct and professional education, training and competence among registrants of the designated professions. |
