Amendment of section 206 of Principal Act (effective dates of sentences by courts-martial).

54.— The following subsection is substituted for subsection (1) of section 206 of the Principal Act:

“(1) Subject to section 212A, every term of imprisonment or detention to which a person is sentenced by a court-martial, whether the person is already undergoing sentence or not, shall, save as otherwise expressly provided in this Act, be reckoned to commence on the day on which the sentence is signed by the military judge presiding at the court-martial or on such earlier date as the military judge may direct.”.
