Health (Charges for In-Patient Services) (Amendment) Regulations, 2006

The Minister for Health and Children, in exercise of the powers conferred on her by sections 53 and 72 of the Health Act 1970 (as amended by the Health (Amendment) Act 2005 ), hereby makes the following regulations:

1.        These Regulations may be cited as the Health (Charges for In-Patient Services) (Amendment) Regulations 2006.

2.        The Health (Charges for In-Patient Services) Regulations 2005 ( S.I. No. 276 of 2005 ) are amended by substituting for Regulation 2 the following:

“2(1) Subject to paragraph (2) herein, these regulations shall apply to all persons to whom in patient services are provided and whether or not such persons have full or limited eligibility.

(2) These regulations shall not apply to any person receiving in patient services pursuant to s 52 of the Health Act 1970 in respect of the diagnosis and treatment of diseases prescribed under Part IV of the Health Act 1947 .”

3.        These regulations shall come into operation on 15th day of December, 2006.

The Minister for Finance consents to these Regulations.

Health (Charges for In-Patient Services) (Amendment) Regulations, 2006

Explanatory Memorandum

These regulations amend the Health (Charges for In-Patient Services) Regulations 2005 to exclude people receiving services for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases prescribed under Part IV of the Health Act, 1947 from charges under the regulations.
