I, Mary Coughlan, Minister for Agriculture and Food, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), and for the purpose of giving effect to Commission Decision 2006/689/EC of 3 October 20061 , hereby make the following regulations— 1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Avian Influenza) (Control on Imports of Avian Products from Romania) (Amendment) (No. 3) Regulations 2006. 2. The European Communities (Avian Influenza) (Control on Imports of Avian Products from Romania) Regulations 2006 ( S.I. No. 71 of 2006 ) are amended by the substitution, for the definition of “Commission Decision” in Regulation 2(1), of— | ||||||
“ ‘Commission Decision’ means Commission Decision 2005/710/EC2 as amended by Commission Decision 2006/23/EC of 20 January 20063 , Commission Decision 2006/24/EC of 20 January 20064 , Commission Decision 2006/321/EC of 28 April 20065 , Commission Decision 2006/396/EC of 2 June 20066 , Commission Decision 2006/405/EC of 7 June 20067 , Commission Decision 2006/435/EC of 23 June 20068 and Commission Decision 2006/689/EC of 3 October 2006;”. 3. The European Communities (Avian Influenza) (Control on Imports of Avian Products from Romania (Amendment) Regulations 2006 ( S.I. No. 313 of 2006 ) and The European Communities (Avian Influenza) (Control on Imports of Avian Products from Romania) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2006 ( S.I. No. 379 of 2006 ) are revoked. | ||||||

This Order amends S.I. No. 71 of 2006 and gives effect to Commission Decision 2006/689/EC of 3 October 2006 concerning certain protective measures with regard to highly pathogenic avian influenza poultry in Romania. | ||||||
