National Milk Agency (Conduct Of Elections)(Amendment) Regulations 2006

I, Mary Coughlan, Minister for Agriculture and Food, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 20 of the Milk (Regulation of Supply) Act, 1994 (No. 25 of 1994) hereby make the following regulations:

1.         These Regulations may be cited as the National Milk Agency (Conduct of Elections)(Amendment) Regulations 2006.

The National Milk Agency (Conduct of Elections) Regulations 1997 (S. I. No. 185 of 1997) are amended by the substitution for Regulation 4 (2), of -

“(2)      (a)     The registered producers who, on the first day of the month next preceding the month in which the election day falls, were suppliers of raw milk for heat treatment for liquid consumption with -

(i)         Connacht Gold Co-operative Society Limited,

(ii)        Glanbia Foods Society Limited,

(iii)       Glenisk Limited,

(iv)       Glenveagh Agricultural Co-operative Society Limited,

(v)        Town of Monaghan Co-operative Agricultural & Dairy Society Limited, or

(vi)        Tullamore Dairies Limited,

comprise a constituency and are entitled to elect 3 producer members to the National Milk Agency.

(b) The registered producers who, on the first day of the month next preceding the month in which the election day falls, were suppliers of raw milk for heat treatment for liquid consumption with -

(i)        Arrabawn Co-operative Society Limited,

(ii)        Clona Dairy Products Society Limited,

(iii)       Dairygold Co-operative Society Limited,

(iv)       Dawn Dairies Limited,

(v)        Lee Strand Co-operative Creamery Limited,

(vi)       Milltown Farm Dairies Limited,

(vii)       North Cork Co-operative Creameries Limited,

(viii)       Centenary Thurles Co-operative Society Limited,

(ix)       Wexford Creamery Limited,

(x)        Ardrahan Dairy Products Limited

comprise a constituency and are entitled to elect 2 producer members to the National Milk Agency.”.
