HOUSING (MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS) ACT 2002 (COMMENCEMENT) (No. 3) ORDER 2006

The Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 1(3) of the Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2002 (No. 9 of 2002), hereby orders as follows:-

1.   This Order may be cited as the Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2002 (Commencement) (No. 3) Order 2006.

2.   Sections 17(a), 17(b), 17(e) and Schedule 2 of the Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2002 shall come into operation on the date of the making of this Order.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation)

This Order brings into operation sections 17(a), 17(b), 17(e) and Schedule 2 of the Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2002 . The provisions allow the Housing Finance Agency to lend to local authorities for any capital purpose authorised by or under the enactments mentioned in Schedule 2 of the Act. They also allow the Agency to lend directly to bodies approved under section 6 of the Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1992 .
