S.I. No. 905/2005 - Courts (Supplemental Provisions) Act 1961 (Increase of Judicial Remuneration)


The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 46(9) of the Courts (Supplemental Provisions) Act 1961 (No.39 of 1961 (inserted by section 1 (b) of the Courts (Supplemental Provisions (Amendment) (No.2) Act 1968 (No.21 of 1968)), as amended by section 9 of the Oireachtas (Allowances to Members) and Ministerial, Parliamentary and Judicial Offices (Amendment) Act 1983 (No. 32 of 1983), hereby order as follows:

1.  This Order may be cited as the Courts (Supplemental Provisions) Act 1961 (Increase of Judicial Remuneration) [No. 2] Order 2005.

2.  The annual sums payable by way of remuneration to the several judges of the Supreme Court, the High Court, the Circuit Court and the District Court shall be the following, with effect from 1 January 2006:

To the Chief Justice: €249,095.

To the President of the High Court: €231,303.

To each ordinary Judge of the Supreme Court: €217,071.

To the President of the Circuit Court: €209,954.

To each ordinary Judge of the High Court: €204,618.

To the President of the District Court: €154,797.

To each ordinary Judge of the Circuit Court: €149,461.

To each ordinary Judge of the District Court: €124,550.
