S.I. No. 568 of 2005 .

OMBUDSMAN (DEFENCE FORCES) ACT 2004 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER 2005

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 19(2) of the Ombudsman (Defence Forces Act 2004 (No. 36 of 2004), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Ombudsman (Defence Forces) Act 2004 (Commencement) Order 2005.

2. In this Order “Act” means the Ombudsman (Defence Forces) Act 2004 (No. 36 of 2004).

3. (1) Subject to paragraph (2) of this Article, the 1st day of December 2005 is appointed as the day on which the Act shall come into operation.

(2) The 31st day of August 2005 is appointed as the day on which sections 1, 2, 3, 14, 16, 17, 18 and 19 of the Act shall come into operation.

(3) Nothing in paragraph (2) of this Article results in section 5(1)(g) of the Act having effect by reference to a date earlier than the 1st day of December 2005.
