I, John O'Donoghue, Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by
section 3
of the
Prisons Act, 1972
(No. 7 of 1972), as adapted by the Justice (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1997 (
S.I. No. 298 of 1997
), hereby specify Wheatfield Place of Detention, situated at Cloverhill Road, Clondalkin, Dublin as a place to be used as a prison with effect from the 10th day of October, 2001, which place shall be known as Wheatfield Prison.
