S.I. No. 306/1999 - Harbour Authorities (Miscellaneous) (Non-Holding of Elections) Order, 1999.


I, MICHAEL WOODS, Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources, being of the opinion that, in respect of the election to be held in 1999 of the elected members of each of the harbour authorities specified in the Schedule to this Order, the electors will be so few in number as to render inappropriate the holding of such election, hereby in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Section 11 of the Harbours Act, 1946 (No. 9 of 1946), and the Communications (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order, 1987 ( S.I. No. 91 of 1987 ) as adapted by the Marine (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1997 ( S.I. No. 301 of 1997 ), order as folows:

1. This order may be cited as the Harbour Authorities (Miscellaneous) (Non-Holding Of Elections) Order, 1999.

2. It is hereby directed that the election to be held in the year 1999 of the elected members of a harbour authority specified in the Schedule to this Order shall not be held.
