S.I. No. 270/1999 - Eastern Regional Health Authority (Appointment of Members) Regulations, 1999.


I, BRIAN COWEN, Minister for Health and Children, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Section 11 (2)(a) of the Health (Eastern Regional Health Authority) Act, 1999 (No. 13 of 1999) hereby make the following Regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Eastern Regional Health Authority (Appointment of Members) Regulations, 1999.

2. The members of Dublin Corporation appointed to the Authority shall include:

(i) a total of six members drawn from any of the following local electoral areas: Artane, Ballymun-Whitehall, Cabra-Glasnevin, Clontarf, Donaghmede, Finglas, North Inner City;

(ii) a total of three members drawn from any of the following local electoral areas: Ballyfermot, Crumlin-Kimmage, Rathmines, South-East Inner City, South-West Inner City;

(iii) one member from the local electoral area of Pembroke.

3. The members of Wicklow County Council appointed to the Authority shall include one member from the local electoral area of Baltinglass.

These Regulations apply to certain local authority members appointed to the Eastern Regional Health Authority. The Regulations provide that a certain number of members of Dublin Corporation and Wicklow County Council should be drawn from specific local electoral areas, so as to facilitate an equitable local representation on the Authority and on the three Area Health Boards.
