THE SOLICITORS ACTS, 1954 TO 1994 (APPRENTICES' FEES) REGULATIONS, 1998

The Law Society of Ireland in exercise of the powers conferred on them by Sections 5 and 82 of the Solicitors Act, 1954 , and with the concurrence of the President of the High Court, hereby make the following Regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as The Solicitors Acts, 1954 to 1994 (Apprentices' Fees) Regulations, 1998.

2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of February 1999 and The Solicitors Acts, 1954 to 1994 (Apprentices' Fees) Regulations, 1995 ( S.I. No. 380 of 1995 ) from that date stand revoked.

3. The Interpretation Act, 1937 shall apply for the purposes of the interpretation of these Regulations as it applies for the purposes of the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas, except insofar as it may be inconsistent with the provisions of the Solicitors Acts, 1954 to 1994 or these Regulations.

4. As and from the date on which these Regulations shall come into operation the fees specified in the Schedule hereto shall be paid to the Law Society of Ireland in respect of courses and examinations provided for in The Solicitors Acts, 1954 to 1994 (Apprenticeship and Education) Regulations, 1997 ( S.I. No. 287 of 1997 ).
