MAINTENANCE ACT, 1994 (SECTION 13(2)) (DECLARATION) ORDER, 1997

I, DAVID ANDREWS. T. D., Minister for Foreign Affairs, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Section 13 (2) of the Maintenance Act, 1994 . hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Maintenance Act, 1994 (Section 13(2)) (Declaration) Order, 1997.

2. It is hereby declared that each of the states specified in the Schedule to this Order is a designated jurisdiction within the meaning of Part III of the Maintenance Act, 1994 .

3. This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of November, 1997.

 The State, Algeria, Australia, Austria, Barbados, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Chile, China, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Ecuador, Estonia, Finland. France, Germany, Greece, Guatemala, Haiti, Holy See, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Luxembourg, Mexico, Monaco. Morocco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Niger, Norway, Pakistan, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sri Lanka, Surinam, Sweden, Switzerland, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Tunisia, Turkey, United Kingdom, Uruguay, Yugoslavia.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This order specifies which countries are designated jurisdictions for the purposes of Part III of the Maintenance Act, 1994 , those countries being Parties to the New York Convention on the Recovery Abroad of Maintenance, 1956.
