IRISH AVIATION AUTHORITY (AIRWORTHINESS OF AIRCRAFT) (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1997

The Irish Aviation Authority, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 5 (5) of the Irish Aviation Authority Act, 1993 (No. 29 of 1993), hereby makes the following order—

1. This Order may be cited as the Irish Aviation Authority (Airworthiness of Aircraft) (Amendment) Order, 1997.

2. In the Irish Aviation Authority (Airworthiness of Aircraft) Order, 1996 ( S.I. No. 324 of 1996 )—

(1) references to Joint Aviation Regulations shall be construed as Joint Aviation Requirements and the reference to "regulations" shall be construed as a reference to "requirements".

(2) the reference in Article 12 (3) (a) to the Air Navigation (Nationality and Registration of Aircraft) Order, 1996 shall be construed as a reference to the Irish Aviation Authority (Nationality and Registration of Aircraft) Order, 1996 ( S.I. No. 322 of 1996 ).

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

Joint Aviation Requirements as adopted by the Joint Aviation Authorities achieve the status of EU Regulations when adopted under EU Regulation 3922/91. It is appropriate to reflect in the Order that certain Joint Aviation Requirements not yet adopted under that Regulation are applicable in the State under the terms of the Arrangements referred to in section 14 of the Act.
