HEALTH (DELEGATION OF MINISTERIAL FUNCTIONS) ORDER, 1996.

The Government, on the request of the Minister for Health and in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 2 (1) of the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) (No. 2) Act, 1977 (No. 28 of 1977), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order be cited as the Health (Delegation of Ministerial Functions) Order, 1996.

2. The powers and duties of the Minister for Health conferred on him by or under the enactments specified in the Schedule to this Order are hereby delegated to Brian O'Shea T.D., Minister of State at the Department of Health.

3. Health (Delegation of Ministerial Functions) (No. 2) Order, 1995 ( S.I. No. 131 of 1995 ), is hereby revoked.

SCHEDULE

Cruelty to Animals Act, 1876;

Rats and Mice (Destruction) Act, 1919;

Section 5 and Part V and VI of the Health Act, 1947 (No. 28 of 1947);

Section 59 of the Health Act, 1953 (No. 26 of 1953);

Food Standards Act, 1974 (No. 11 of 1974);

Poisons Acts, 1961 and 1977;

Sale of Food and Drugs Acts, 1875 to 1936;

Pharmacy Acts, 1875 to 1977;

Milk and Dairies Act, 1935 to 1988;

Control of Clinical Trials Acts, 1987 and 1990;

Tobacco Products (Control of Advertising, Sponsorship and Sales Promotion) Act, 1978 (No. 24 of 1988), and the Regulations made thereunder, before the commencement of this Order;

Tobacco (Health Promotion and Protection) Act, 1988 (No. 27 of 1978), and the Regulations made thereunder, before the commencement of this Order.

Section 13 , 14 and 32 of the Irish Medicines Board Act, 1995 (No. 29 of 1995).
