EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES (SEED OF OIL PLANTS AND FIBRE PLANTS) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1995.

I, IVAN YATES, Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Section 3 of the European Communities Act, 1972 (No. 27 of 1972) and for the purpose of giving effect to Commission Directive 92/107/EEC of 11 December, 1992(1), hereby make the following Regulations:—

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Seed of Oil Plants and Fibre Plants) (Amendment) Regulations, 1995, and shall come into operation on the 1st day of March 1995.

(2) The European Communities (Seed of Oil Plants and Fibre Plants) Regulations, 1981 to 1992, and these Regulations may be cited together as the European Communities (Seed of Oil Plants and Fibre Plants) Regulations, 1981 to 1995 and shall be construed together as one.

2. In these Regulations "the Principal Regulations" means the European Communities (Seed of Oil Plants and Fibre Plants) Regulations, 1981 ( S.I. No. 38 of 1981 ).

3. The schedule to the Principal Regulations is hereby amended in Annex II, Section I, Paragraph 1 by the substitution of the figures "99.5" and "99" for the figures "97" and "95" given respectively in column 2 ("Minimum Varietal Purity (%)") for basic seed and certified seed of Glycine max.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The Regulations amend European Communities (Seed of Oil Plants and Fibre Plants) Regulations, 1981 in accordance with the provisions of Commission Directive No. 92/107/EEC.
