LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT, 1994 COMMENCEMENT (NO. 3) ORDER, 1995.

The Minister for the Environment in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 1 (9) of the Local Government Act, 1994 (No. 8 of 1994), hereby orders as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Local Government Act, 1994 Commencement (No. 3) Order, 1995.

2. On the 1st day of January, 1996—

(a) section 64 of the Local Government Act, 1994 shall come into operation for the purposes of the General Council of County Councils, and

(b) subsection (13) of the said section shall come into operation generally.

3. On the 1st day of January, 1997, section 64 of the Local Government Act, 1994 shall come into operation except insofar as previously commenced by article 2 of this Order.

4. Section 4 (1) of and the First Schedule to the Local Government Act, 1994 shall come into operation on the 1st day of January, 1996 to the extent specified in Part I of the Schedule to this Order and on the 1st day of January, 1997 to the extent specified in Part II of the said Schedule.
