DISEASES OF ANIMALS ACT, 1966 (FIRST SCHEDULE) (AMENDMENT) (NO. 3) ORDER, 1995.

I, IVAN YATES, Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 3 and 11 of the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (No. 6 of 1966), as adapted by the Agriculture and Food (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1993 ( S.I. No. 11 of 1993 ), hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (First Schedule) (Amendment) (No. 3) Order, 1995.

(2) The Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (First Schedule) (Amendment) Orders, 1968 to 1995, and this Order may be cited together as the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (First Schedule) (Amendment) Orders, 1968 to 1995.

2. In this Order—

"the Act" means the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (No. 6 of 1966);

"the First Schedule" means the First Schedule to the Act, as amended by the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (First Schedule) (Amendment) Orders, 1968 to 1995.

3. For all the purposes of the Act, the First Schedule is hereby amended by—

( a ) the substitution in entry No. 35 (inserted by the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (First Schedule) (Amendment) Order, 1992 ( S.I. No. 252 of 1992 )) of Part III, Class A thereof of "Porcine epidemic diarrhoea." for "Porcine epidemic diarrhoea (Porcine corona virus).";

( b ) the insertion in Part III thereof at the end of Class A of the following:

"42. Porcine corona virus.

43. Epizootic haemorrhagic disease of deer.".

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order separates Porcine epidemic diarrhoea and Porcine corona virus into individual diseases for the purposes of the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (No. 6 of 1966) and also inserts Epizootic haemorrhagic disease of deer as a Class A disease into the same Act.
