DISEASES OF ANIMALS (INSPECTION FEES) ORDER, 1995.

I, IVAN YATES, Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 3 and 6 of the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (No. 6 of 1966), as adapted by the Agriculture and Food (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1993 ( S.I. No. 11 of 1993 ), hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Diseases of Animals (Inspection Fees) Order, 1995.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 12th day of June, 1995.

2. (1) There shall be paid to the Minister, in such manner as he shall direct, in respect of the issue of a certificate under Article 19 of the Diseases of Animals (Protection of Animals during Transport) Order, 1995 ( S.I. No. 98 of 1995 ), a fee calculated in accordance with paragraph (2) of this Article and the fee payable under this Article shall be paid by the owner or the person who is for the time being in charge of the animals to which the certificate relates.

(2) A fee payable under this Article shall be calculated by reference to the number of animals to which it relates and in accordance with such of the following rates as is or are appropriate:

( a ) in case the relevant certificate relates to animals of the bovine species, a rate of £3.78 per animal,

( b ) in case such certificate relates to animals of the equine species, a rate of £10.00 per animal,

( c ) in case such certificate relates to animals of the ovine or caprine species, a rate of £0.40 per animal,

( d ) in case such certificate relates to animals of the porcine species, a rate of £0.95 per animal,

( e ) in case such certificate relates to animals of the cervine species, a rate of £0.60 per animal,

( f ) in case such certificate relates to animals of the canine species, a rate of £1.50 per pup and a rate of £3.00 per adult animal,

( g ) in case such certificate relates to any other species, a rate of £10.00 per certificate,

subject in all cases to a minimum fee of £10.00 per certificate.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order fixes the rates of fees payable in respect of the issue of welfare certificates for animals being exported.
