EXPLANATORY NOTE.

Section 3 (3) of the Shannon Navigation Act, 1990 empowers the Commissioners of Public Works to make Bye-laws extending the limits of the Navigation which are determined by the Act of the British Parliament 2 and 3 Vict., c. 61, as amended. This Bye-law extends the limits of the Navigation along a tributary of the river Boyle from a point 420 metres downstream of Drum Bridge to a point 200 metres east of the National Primary Route N4 at Deerpark and so brings this section of the river within the scope of Shannon legislation.
