Preservation of human life.

29.—(1) No remuneration shall be due to a salvor from shipwrecked persons whose lives are saved by the salvor.

(2) A salvor of human life, who has taken part in the services rendered on the occasion of the incident giving rise to salvage, shall be entitled to a fair share of the payment awarded to the salvor for salving the vessel or other property or preventing or minimizing damage to the environment.

(3) Salvage in respect of the preservation of human life when payable by the owners of the vessel shall be payable in priority to all other claims for salvage.
