COINAGE (DIMENSION AND DESIGN) (ONE POUND COIN) REGULATIONS, 1990. | ||
I, ALBERT REYNOLDS, Minister for Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 (6) of the Decimal Currency Act, 1969 (No. 23 of 1969), hereby make the following regulations: 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Coinage (Dimension and Design) (One Pound Coin) Regulations, 1990. 2. In these Regulations "coin" means a coin of the denomination of one pound to be provided under section 3 (1) of the Decimal Currency Act, 1969 (No. 23 of 1969) (as amended by the Decimal Currency Act, 1990 (No. 2 of 1990)). 3. Each coin shall be circular in shape. 4. The diameter of each coin shall be 3.1100 centimeters. 5. The edge of each coin shall be of a fine milled surface with beading. 6. Each coin shall have for the obverse impression a harp together with the inscription "Eire" and the date of the year and for the reverse impression a red deer together with the inscription "£1" and "punt". | ||
