ROAD TRAFFIC (SPEED LIMITS) (COUNTY BOROUGH OF DUBLIN AND COUNTY OF DUBLIN) (AMENDMENT) (NO. 2) REGULATIONS, 1990.

The Minister for the Environment in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 5 and 45 of the Road Traffic Act 1961 (No. 24 of 1961) and section 46 of the said Act as amended by section 25 of the Road Traffic Act 1968 (No. 25 of 1968) hereby makes the following Regulations.

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County Borough of Dublin and County of Dublin) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations, 1990.

(2) The Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County Borough of Dublin and County of Dublin) Regulations 1989 to 1990 and these Regulations shall be construed together and may be cited collectively as the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County Borough of Dublin and County of Dublin) Regulations 1989 to 1990.

2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 26th day of June, 1990.

3. In these Regulations "the Principal Regulations" means the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County Borough of Dublin and County of Dublin) Regulations 1989. ( S.I. No. 206 of 1989 ).

4. Reference 9 of the Third Schedule to the Principal Regulations is hereby amended by the addition thereto of the following—

( g ) The Dublin Road from a point 52 metres south of La Mancha Junction to a point 105 metres south of its junction with the Back Road.

( h ) The Back Road from a point 218 metres south west of its junction with the Bawn to its junction with the Dublin Road.

( i ) Kinsealy Lane for a distance of 15 metres from its junction with the Back Road.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations amend the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County Borough of Dublin and County of Dublin) Regulations, 1989 by prescribing a speed limit of 40 m.p.h. in respect of the public roads mentioned in these Regulations.

Ambulances, fire brigade vehicles and Garda Síochána vehicles while being used in the course of duty are exempt from the speed limit.
