DUBLIN METER PARKING PLACES RULES 1989.

Rules for the administration of meter parking places in the County Borough of Dublin, made by the Right Honourable, The Lord Mayor, Aldermen and Burgesses of Dublin, the appropriate local authority in exercise of powers conferred by Section 90 (3) (b) of the Road Traffic Act, 1961 (No. 24 of 1961)—

1 Citation.

1. These Rules may be cited as the Dublin Meter Parking Places Rules 1989.

2 Commencement.

2. These Rules shall come into force on 1st July, 1989.

3. In these Rules—

"the Principal Rules" means the Dublin Meter Parking Places Rules 1985 ( S.I. No. 27 of 1985 ).

4. Rule 7 of the Principal Rules, as amended by the Dublin Meter Parking Places (No. 2) Rules 1985 ( S.I. No. 366 of 1985 ), and the Dublin Meter Parking Places Rules 1987 ( S.I. No. 232 of 1987 ), is hereby further amended by the substitution of the following paragraph for paragraph (c)—

(c) The parking fee payable under paragraph (a) of this Rule shall in the "residual area" be:—

(i) one twenty pence coin for a continuous period not exceeding thirty minutes, or

(ii) Two twenty pence coins for a continuous period not exceeding one hour, or

(iii) One fifty pence coin for a continuous period not exceeding one hour and fifteen minutes, or

(iv) Three twenty pence coins for a continuous period not exceeding one hour and thirty minutes, or

(v) One fifty pence coin and one twenty pence coin for a continuous period not exceeding one hour and forty five minutes, or

(vi) Four twenty pence coins for a continuous period not exceeding two hours.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Rules amend Rule 7 of the Dublin Meter Parking Places Rules 1985 (S.I. 27 of 1985) to provide for an increase in the rate of parking fees payable in the "residual area" from 20p per hour to 40p per hour.
