POST OFFICE SAVINGS BANK REGULATIONS, 1921 (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1989. REGULATIONS, 1989.

AN POST, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section II of the Post Office Savings Bank Act, 1861, and section 103 of the Postal and Telecommunications Services Act, 1983 (No. 24 of 1983), with the consent of the Minister for Finance and after consultation with the Minister for Communications, hereby makes the following regulations with respect to which, pursuant to Section 6 (1) of the Savings Bank Act, 1920, as amended by the Postal and Telecommunications Services Act, 1983 (No. 24 of 1983), a draft has been laid, by the Minister for Finance, before each House of the Oireachtas and that no resolution opposing the draft or any part thereof has been passed by each House.

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Post Office Savings Bank Act, 1921 (Amendment) Regulations, 1989.

(2) These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of July, 1989.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937) applies to these Regulations.

3. Regulation 45 of the Post Office Savings Bank Regulations, 1921, is hereby amended by the substitution of "£100" for "£50" (inserted by Regulation 3 of the Post Office Savings Bank Regulations, 1921 (Amendment) Regulations, 1982 ( S.I. No. 204 of 1982 )).

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations increase the amount which may be withdrawn on demand from the Post Office Savings Bank from £50 to £100.
