BORD TELECOM ÉIREANN, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Section 90, Postal and Telecommunications Services Act, 1983 (No. 24 of 1983), hereby makes the following Scheme:

1. (1) This Scheme may be cited as the Telex (Amendment) Scheme, 1988.

(2) The collective citation "the Telex Schemes 1980 to 1988" shall include this Scheme.

2. This Scheme shall be deemed to have come into operation on 1 June 1988.

3. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Scheme.

4. The Telex Regulations, 1980 ( S.I. No. 197 of 1980 ), are hereby amended by:

(a) the insertion of the following definition after that of "fixtures and accessories" in Regulation 4

'"Eirpage Service" means the one way national wide-area radio paging service interconnected to the fixed telecommunications network of Bord Telecom Éireann.

"Eirpage Equipment" means pagers (and other associated equipment) to which Eirpage Service is supplied'.

(b) the substitution of the following definition for that of "installation" in Regulation 4

"'installation" means a telex line and equipment associated therewith and, where the context so admits or requires, Eirpage Equipment and, where the subscriber has for the purpose concluded an agreement with Bord Telecom Éireann, subscriber's terminal equipment supplied by Bord Telecom Éireann otherwise than by sale';

The purpose of this Scheme is to provide for calls to Eirpage Equipment.
