HEALTH (CHARGES FOR IN-PATIENT SERVICES) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1987.

The Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 5 of the Health Act, 1947 (No. 28 of 1947) and section 53 of the Health Act, 1970 (No. 1 of 1970) hereby makes the following Regulations:—

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Health (Charges for In-Patient Services) (Amendment) Regulations, 1987.

2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the first day of January, 1988.

3. Paragraph (b) of sub-article (1) of article 3 of the Health (Charges for In-Patient Services) Regulations, 1976 ( S.I. No. 180 of 1976 ) is hereby amended by the substitution of `thirty days' for 'ninety days' in both places where the latter occurs.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These Regulations amend the Health (Charges for In-Patient Services) Regulations, 1976 ( S.I. No. 180 of 1976 ) to enable charges towards the cost of hospital in-patient services provided under Section 52 of the Health Act, 1970 to be made after thirty day in the case of patients without dependents who have not full eligibility for health services.
